We know there are many, many people very excited about returning for Proston for its biggest ever celebration weekend! The entire weekend has been designed to celebrate Proston, its districts and all of the people that have passed through in the past 100 years. Although there are many scheduled activities for the weekend, our primary goal is to provide a perfect atmosphere for reconnecting with the past (people, places and events) and looking forward to the future of our thriving community.
We are currently working closely with Proston State School to bring you a completely coordinated long weekend. As such, all specific planning and announcements are to be considered subject to change and will be confirmed closer.
Please find our most up to date centenary information below to download and view.
Please reach us at prostonheritage@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
We would love each and every person to have ever been impacted by Proston, its districts, or its schools to return, bring their families and catch up with past friends and make a few new ones!
The Proston and District Heritage Association has compiled a non-exhaustive list of nearby accommodation options, which can be downloaded below. we strongly encourage you to explore your options and book early and hope you can stay for the complete weekend.
There will be an additional programme to supplement the events outlined below from the school. It is yet to be finalised, however it is expected to include class photo opportunities, historic displays, tours and the opening of the time capsule!
Simply showing up will be fantastic, however there are a range of ways to get more involved:
- Have a market or food stall: there are markets planned for the Saturday, and food vans are going to be most sought after to help keep everyone fed.
- Volunteer: the Heritage Association will be manning an information and souvenir stand over both Saturday and Sunday, additionally, there are many other opportunities to help with the organisation of the weekend, either prior or during!
Please email us at your earliest convenience, no idea or suggestion will be discounted! ProstonHeritage@gmail.com
